Posted by Manuele Trullu On May - 23 - 20107 COMMENTS

Here we are! It’s online our first tutorial ” touch screen surface”  based on some scene of Iron Man2.

Was very exciting watching the movie when every kind of  glossy or glass surface were touch screen!

That’s the first part of tutorial where we build the graphic part using after effects; in the second part we’ll track with mocca and we’ll finalize the project into after effects.

Unfortunately for many of you the tutorial is in Italian Language but don’t worry… is very slow and the video is very clear!

C4D makes money!

Posted by Manuele Trullu On March - 14 - 20104 COMMENTS

In this time of international crisis to have a little money in the pockets is always more convenient. Unfortunately, these coins are only three-dimensional… exactly they are  325 x 2 Euro coins = 650 Euro!
The project was carried out with C4D R11.5 and mograph2.
I made the textures by photographing a real coin from each side and then I created some maps with Crazybump, a simple software  to use but with great potential.
With Mograph cloner object duplicate the coins as you need. I also added a random effector for randomize the coin’s fall.
Finally, the tag mograph rigid body allows full dynamic integration between the objects in the scene. Maybe shortly I will insert a simple tuturial on topic.

For now enjoy with money!

Monitor Sci-Fi…update

Posted by Manuele Trullu On January - 26 - 20101 COMMENT

During the creation of some sci-fi elements for a job, I decided to create a few more so that I could share them with you.. The compositing was done entirely in After Effects. Each function is fictional, but many of the displays used in many film productions are born in a similar way. In the next hours I'll insert a short video of the  "monitor" in action. If there are interested parties I'll include the entire project in the download section.

UPDATE: Video ready here on the top

AVATAR

Posted by Manuele Trullu On January - 24 - 20101 COMMENT

Avatar is the new masterpiece by James Cameron. Looking at the video "behind the scenes," we are immediately made aware of the big and hard work that lies behind it. The project originated in 1995, known as "Project 880". The same Cameron left it on stand-by devoting his time to "TITANIC" while believing that the time and the technology of period were not ready for a similar project, then, in late 2006 Cameron had announced plans to postpone the film until 2009 to improve the aesthetics of special effects.

"Avatar is a futuristic tale set on a planet 200 years in the future; an old-fashioned jungle adventure with an environmental conscience that aspires to a mythic level of storytelling. The aspiration is obviously to tell a mythological story. "For the film I had to create an entire alien culture and language. To make it credible I need completely photorealistic CGI characters, and they'll get by using the fledgling technology of Performance Capture, which we are developing now. I spent the last 14 months working on the Performance-Capture: the actors interpret their characters, and then we animate them. What I always try to achieve is something mentally intriguing. I'll spend many months completing the visual effects for the film, and because of that it won't be released before summer 2009. It 'a challenge, and that is why I decided to do it." – James Cameron declared.

Also in 2006, Weta Digital signed a contract with 20th Century Fox for the realization of special effects for the film. The film was released in the traditional 2D format, but has also seen wide deployment in 3D and IMAX 3D. Cameron , who is a strong supporter of 3D as the future of the cinema, said that watching Avatar in three dimensions would be a richer experience since the film has been specially designed to be watched in that format. The final budget has been declared to be over 300 million dollars for production costs and another 150 million or more for promotion and marketing. To date the film has grossed more than 1600 millions of dollars across the globe . In 2006, Cameron said that if Avatar was successful, he would probably make two sequels of the movie. In response to international success achieved, Cameron has confirmed the real possibility of turning the two sequels.

Another application of the  "Clone Object" tool with the addition of "Volume Effector. In this example, an object "light" was cloned into XY space to form  LED Display.
The Volume effector tool will serve to integrate a text object  into led display.

CINEMA 4D: Cloner object

Posted by Manuele Trullu On January - 23 - 2010ADD COMMENTS

In this clip we see an example of "Clone Object"  contained in the Mograph's module of Cinema 4D. The potential of this simple tool is remarkable and with few easy steps you can create some interesting scenes. The sample image was created by inserting an object library C4D (Zygote Man) as son of Clone Object, by setting the mode of the clone in "Grid Array". The background was created in Photoshop using the union of two different scenarios. The Final compositing  (such as color correction) was done in after effects.

AFTER EFFECTS COMPOSITING

Posted by Manuele Trullu On January - 23 - 20101 COMMENT

Some time ago, for a video project I had the need to create an environments destruction caused by war or natural disasters.
The original video was fairly clean.
The more important elements in order to create a credible and appealing result are in my opinion the following:
1-Accurated choice of additional elements
2-Reproduction of physical effects that external factors could lead to the scene
3-Coherence of light and color between scene elements external scenary

The Web has been my source for dozens of public domain images. The second step was to create a composition that respects the rules of perspective in reference to the original scene.
I performed this step with Photoshop to create the debris and damage to the building.
The images created were then imported into After Effects where I made two main tasks:
-tracking  movie in order to provide the exact coordinates for  external images to move in the movie
-color-correction on each item and overall the whole composition.
